wedding of the month

This months wedding of the months is Kristie and Mike. They got married in July at Siroccco Golf Club in Calgary. The bride spent a lot of time along with her friends and family on this DIY wedding. We created the seating chart and signage for the wedding and they worked really well.

Kristies mom and gran cooked all the cookies for their cookie bar and they were a huge hit.

Shaun and renee were the photographers and they did a fantastic job. Krisite and mikes wedding has also been featured on Wedding Obsessions blog, a Canadian based wedding site. Congratulations guys.

Green Markers

Whilst visiting the Toronto gift show, we stumbled across these cool little products. Green Markers!!! To the untrained eye they look like blades of grass; how useful is this i hear you cry! well they are actually little post it style notes or page markers for your books!

If something interests you, mark it

as your interests expand, tufts of grass will grow

We love them!! makes you want to go and get a book just so you can mark pages! The company Yuruliku is Japanese and their website has lots of other cool products. We are currently carrying this product but chances are they wont stick around for too long!!!

Wedding of the month

We have decided to do a new feature on our blog; Wedding of the month.

Here we will display one of our lucky couples invitations and stationery we helped them to create and include photos of the actual day. This months wedding is Janet and Jeff's wedding at Lake Louise.

Janet and Jeff decided on a pocket style invitation for practicality as there was a lot of information their guests needed to know. The ribbon gave it the outdoors feel as the ceremony was in front of the lake. We carried the theme throughout the rest of their stationery, programs, table numbers, place cards and seating chart.

His and hers towels, Crate and Barrel gift card or another slow cooker, saying thank you is a must. After your wedding you have about 3 months to send out your notes of thanks. It might be a nice chance to invest in some fancy personalized stationery and also letting people know if you have decided to change your name or not. If you had a destination wedding, using a picture from your special day is also a nice touch, for those who couldn't make it. Which ever way you decide to do it, thank you cards must always always be hand written. It gives it a more personal touch and people can genuinely see you appreciated their thoughtful gift.

A special delivery arrived yesterday at the store and distracted everyone including myself. Whilst having two other projects on the go i couldn't resist a quick peak! Our latest delivery of Portmerion products. We love this line and so do our customers. We hadn't even opened a box before a lady purchased two pieces. Portmerion products are available in such fun colours including the crazy daisy line and the best thing... the price. They are stylish and affordable. Unfortunately we only received certain items as singles so my advice is if you like it, buy it otherwise someone else will!!

Whats new from envelopments

Envelopments released some awesome new colours and patterns a few months ago and we were all waiting with baited breath to see what invitation samples they would come up with. Well wait no more. Our UPS driver dropped off the package tuesday afternoon and i couldn't breath. My excitement description clearly doesn't do them justice so take a look!

A recent addition to our store has been a collection of party hats made by Glitterville, and i think they have not received the recognition they deserve. These 'party hats' if you must, have each been individually hand glittered and decorated and are to be quite frank the coolest party accessory i have ever seen. They come in adult and kids sizes and in a variety of themes, under the sea, paris, cowboys for the kids and ones to ease the stresses of aging for the adults. we have sold 3 today so if you want one chances are by the time you finish debating about should i, shouldn't i, they will be gone. So come and see for yourself!

Colour of the season

So this seasons hot colour for weddings is turquoise. Here at The Social Page we have already seen a number of brides who have been drawn to this great colour. Its a popular choice for a destination wedding as it makes me think of the sea. Its also a very breakfast at tiffany's kind of theme if your going for the classy softer part of the colour. However you choose to use it, its a great colour and works well with shades of yellow, coral and oranges.
